The ZAHU mark — the sun and the moon

About Sara

Founder of ZAHU – This Is the Moment

Behind the Curtain

We spend years studying.

And underneath all of it, there were places inside ourselves that needed a voice.

We were keeping ourselves small. Hiding behind the curtain.

So we began to ask ourselves the heavy questions.

Can we feel what we feel?

Can we stay in our bodies?

Can we hear our own voice?

Can we stop abandoning ourselves when things get uncomfortable?

We began to meet the feelings. Even the rage. The shadow parts we had learned to keep hidden.

Accepting less than we deserved — until the belief became who we are.

ZAHU grew out of those hardened, cemented beliefs and patterns. Slowly. One breath at a time.

Coming home to ourselves. Meeting the beautiful woman who was there all along.

We have done our own work — and we are still doing it.

Over two decades in this work. But this work began here, behind the curtain.

Sara Estee Fried, founder of ZAHU

We are ZAHU – This Is the Moment, founded by Sara Estee Fried, a seasoned social worker. We are based in Lakewood, New Jersey, and we work with women in person and virtually.

The trainings are real and there are many of them — the work they became is below. But we created ZAHU out of doing this work on ourselves, not out of theory. We have been in this room. We are still in it, doing our own work alongside the women we sit with. We know what it takes to begin trusting.

What we want is simple: for you to come home to yourself. One breath, one heartbeat, one moment at a time.

Who We Work With

We work with women.

Women who have lost their voice — or never had one.

Women who cannot feel what they are feeling.

Women who have been protecting themselves from their very breath.

You do not have to arrive knowing what is wrong. You only have to arrive.

You literally taught me communication.

You helped me bridge what was broken and build my new home — what my mom couldn't do for me.

You might come carrying trauma, anxiety, grief, burnout, a relationship that is breaking you — or just the sense that there has to be more than this. We start where you are, and we go at your pace.

Our Approach

  • Somatic Therapy

Your body has been keeping the record — the stress, the trauma, the patterns it learned to carry. We work with it so it can begin to set some of it down.

  • Breathwork

Guided breathing that lets what is stuck begin to move. Sometimes it comes out as tears. Sometimes as rage. Sometimes as the first real calm you have felt in years.

  • Trauma Recovery

We go slowly, and we stay with the body. Not reliving what happened — building enough safety and self-trust that you can stop bracing.

  • Nervous System Regulation

When you have lived in survival mode for years, calm can feel foreign. This is learning, in your own body, how to come back down — and how to trust it when you do.

  • Hypnotherapy

Underneath the thinking mind are the old beliefs still running things. We go there gently, and we begin to loosen them.

  • Family & Systemic Constellations

Some of what you carry did not start with you. We look at the patterns handed down through your family, and what it takes to finally set them down.

  • Safe Touch & Boundaries

Learning where you end and someone else begins. Practicing no and yes in your body — until they are yours to use.

  • Professional Consultation

For therapists and helping professionals who want to work with the body, not only the story. Experiential learning and support with the cases you are already carrying.

  • Psychedelic Preparation & Integration

Preparation so you go in grounded and supported. Integration afterward, so what you find there becomes part of your life instead of a memory.

  • Women's Healing Intensives

Longer private sessions, for when an hour was never going to be enough. No clock-watching, no leaving mid-way through.
